Let me introduce you to some hidden summer vacation spots I've recently discovered. These are places that make you think, 'Huh? Did such places exist in our country?' when you see them on Instagram!

While overseas travel is great these days, there are truly beautiful places domestically as well. Especially in summer, there are special sceneries that make them even more attractive.

1st Place: Gimhae Suan Village Hydrangea Garden - A Dreamy Purple World in June

The first place to introduce is the Gimhae Suan Village Hydrangea Garden. I actually found out about this place from a friend's Instagram story, and it was so pretty that I visited the following week!

It's a small village with a population of 148, but the hydrangeas planted throughout the village create a spectacular view in June. Walking along the 1.2 km hydrangea path is truly dreamy. It feels like being in a secret garden from a fairy tale.

When I visited, the purple, pink, and sky-blue hydrangeas were in full bloom, making every photo a perfect shot. The hydrangea arch photo zone was so popular that people lined up to take pictures.

Visit Tips

Parking is limited, so public transportation is recommended, but honestly, a car is more convenient. If you go around 8 AM, you can park and enjoy the view with fewer people around!

2nd Place: Jeongseon Hwaam Cave - Meet the Natural Air Conditioner

The second place is Hwaam Cave in Jeongseon, Gangwon-do. It's a perfect summer retreat to escape the heat, as the temperature inside the cave remains at 8-10 degrees Celsius year-round, making it very cool!

The most fun part is taking the monorail up to the cave entrance. It takes about 7 minutes, and the view of the valley outside the window is really refreshing. Once inside the cave, it feels like a completely different world.

Especially in summer, they run a night horror experience, offering an even more thrilling experience. It feels like all the heat and stress from the summer just disappear!

3rd Place: Boryeong Muchangpo Mysterious Sea Road - The Miracle of the Sea Parting

The third place is the Muchangpo Mysterious Sea Road in Boryeong, Chungnam. It's a place where you can have a truly special experience. During low tide, the sea parts, revealing a 1.5 km sea road!

You need to go at the time when the sea road opens, and it's truly amazing. As the sea parts and the road appears, it feels like the miracle of Moses. You can see sea creatures like clams, crabs, and starfish on both sides of the road, making it a great place to visit with kids.

In summer, the Muchangpo Mysterious Sea Road Festival is held, offering even more to see. Especially if you go in the evening, the sea road with the sunset is really romantic!

4th Place: Buan Byeonsan Peninsula Gyeokpo Beach - A Hidden Gem of the West Coast

The fourth place is Gyeokpo Beach in the Byeonsan Peninsula, Buan, Jeonbuk. It's one of the cleanest and most beautiful beaches on the west coast!

The biggest attraction here is that it's connected to Byeonsan Peninsula National Park, allowing you to enjoy both the sea and the mountains. After swimming, you can also explore coastal cliffs like Chaeseokgang or Jeokbyeokgang.

The sunset at Chaeseokgang near Gyeokpo Beach is particularly famous. It's said to be one of the best sunset spots on the west coast. When I visited, I happened to see it at sunset, and it was truly moving!

Chaeseokgang → Jeokbyeokgang → Naesosa → Drive to Byeonsan Beach for a full day of enjoyment!

5th Place: Yangpyeong Green Mango Cafe - A European-like Secret Garden

The last place to introduce is the Green Mango Cafe in Yangpyeong, Gyeonggi-do. Although it's a cafe, the garden is so beautiful that it doesn't fall short as a travel destination!

This place truly feels like being somewhere in Europe. With a wide lawn, various flowers, and beautiful garden sculptures, every photo you take exudes Instagram vibes!

Especially in summer, the lush green garden is truly beautiful. The cafe food is delicious, and it's perfect for a day trip as it's only about an hour from the city.

There are many photo spots like in front of the European-style building, the center of the lawn, the flower tunnel, and the garden bench. Especially if you go around 3-4 PM, the light is beautiful, making your photos even better!
