Why Did I Suddenly Want to Go Camping?

I suddenly felt like going somewhere over the weekend. But going far seemed burdensome, and just a regular restaurant seemed boring... Then I remembered Gimpo Campgreat that I saw on Instagram! A friend had visited before and said it was good, and I finally got to go ㅎㅎ

We left around 11 AM and headed to Gimpo. The weather was really nice, so the drive felt great too!

Finding Campgreat

It can be a bit confusing if you just follow the address, but you need to go up past Hansung Chicken. It's a bit up from the road, so the view was really nice!

As soon as we arrived, I thought, wow, it really feels like a campsite. Tents from number 1 to 10 are lined up, and each has an independent space, so it felt private and nice.

Booking and Settling In

We booked in advance through Naver. The tent rental fee is 30,000 won, and you can use it for 3 hours, which wasn't bad. The staff were friendly and guided us, and they had the charcoal ready, which was convenient.

There's air conditioning inside the tent, so no worries about the heat! The table and chairs were neatly set up, and it really felt like glamping.

Shopping at the Store - More Varied Than Expected!

You can't bring outside food, so you have to buy everything at the store. I was worried it might be expensive at first, but it was more reasonable than I thought.

Pork is packed in 400g portions, with a variety of cuts like neck meat, belly, and jowl. They also have beef and squid. The prices were similar to regular restaurants, so it wasn't burdensome.

They had almost everything, from ramen, instant rice, drinks, to snacks. Vegetables, ssamjang, sliced green onions, and kimchi are provided as basics, so there's no need to buy them separately!

Finally, BBQ Time!

The charcoal was already prepared, so we could put the meat on and grill it right away! It really felt like camping. The taste of the meat with the charcoal scent was completely different from eating at home.

My friend and I bought 2 packs of neck meat and 1 pack of belly, and it was quite a lot. We actually couldn't finish it all and had some left over ㅎㅎ

Perfect Space for Kids to Play!

There's a kids' playroom inside the store building, which seemed really great for families with children. Although we came as adults only, I thought it would be nice to bring my nephews next time.

Pets are also allowed, so those with dogs can come comfortably!

Perfect Ending with a Campfire

In the evening, the staff lit a bonfire for us! We roasted marshmallows and enjoyed the fire... It was truly healing.

Honestly, at first, I thought, 'Do I really need to go all the way to Gimpo?' but once I went, I was completely satisfied! It was great to be able to enjoy a camping vibe on a day trip without going far to a campsite.

Especially in this kind of weather, it was perfect to grill meat outdoors and chat with friends. The cost-effectiveness wasn't bad, and the staff were friendly...

I want to come back with my family next time. There's a place for kids to play, and they can run around on the wide lawn, so it seems great for a family outing!
