Finally Visited Sushi Sogi! The 3-Week Wait for a Reservation Was Worth It...

Hello! Today, I'm sharing my review of Sushi Sogi in Sinsa, which is said to be really hot these days!
Honestly, I kept seeing it on Instagram. Everyone was talking about the botan shrimp and crab rice... I was so curious that I immediately made a reservation, but the wait was a whopping 3 weeks! π±
Still, I went on a Saturday evening with mixed feelings of excitement and worry, and wow... it was truly amazing!
π The Way There Is a Bit Unique
Sushi Sogi
π 202, 21 Gangnam-daero 154-gil, Gangnam-gu, Seoul
π 2-minute walk from Sinsa Station Exit 8
β° 12:00-22:00 (Break time 15:00-17:00)
π° Lunch 50,000 KRW / Dinner 95,000 KRW
When you exit Sinsa Station and walk towards Garosu-gil, it's on Serosu-gil. It's on the second floor, so I got a bit lost at first, but I found it quickly by following the signs!
π― The Interior Was Unusual from the First Impression
There was even a sink in front of the door! I really appreciated this thoughtful touch. It seemed to be prepared for those who eat sushi with their hands, and such details were touching π
The interior has a clean Japanese restaurant vibe. All the seats face the counter, so you can watch the chef prepare the food right in front of you, and the atmosphere was both luxurious and comfortable.
πΆ Enjoying a Drink Leisurely
The sake menu was more diverse than I expected! The prices were reasonable compared to other sushi places. I ordered Hanayagi Junmai, which they said was made with wine yeast.
The initial taste was like sake, but the aftertaste was like white wine, which was really interesting! It was slightly sweet, so even someone like me, who isn't good with alcohol, could drink it comfortably.
π¦ The Appetizer Was Unusual
The first dish was cuttlefish, and it was presented with dry ice! Perfect for Instagram π
It included cuttlefish mixed with miso sauce, wood ear mushrooms, and spinach, and the sweet and sour flavor really whetted my appetite. If it starts like this... my expectations were MAX!
π The Abalone Was Truly a Work of Art
They said the abalone was steamed at a low temperature for 3 hours, and it was so tender and perfectly seasoned! I had one piece with abalone liver sauce and another with shari like sushi, and both were absolutely delicious.
They said you could order it as an encore menu later. A truly memorable taste!
π£ Sushi Time! It Exceeded Expectations
Starting with flounder, then herring, sea urchin, and tuna belly... each piece was crafted with care.
They said the **herring** is a signature at Sushi Sogi! It's in season in summer, so it's about 70% fatty, full of flavor... it just melted in my mouth π
π¦ The Botan Shrimp Was Legendary!
The famous **botan shrimp** that all bloggers praised! I totally understood why. To have such ingredients in a 95,000 KRW omakase...
The chewy shrimp flesh was incredibly savory. They also served crispy fried shrimp heads, which made it perfect!
π The Crab Rice Was a Perfect Finish
The final crab rice was truly the pinnacle of visuals! They even gave us time for photos πΈ
You can adjust the amount of rice, and even though I took a small portion, I was so full. Wrapped in seaweed and eaten twice, then they poured broth over the remaining rice to make ochazuke, which was delicious!
π‘ Tips & Overall Review
π― Reservation Tip: You can reserve through Catch Table, but you might have to wait about 3 weeks on weekends. Weekdays seem a bit better!
π Parking: Parking is available in front of the store, and valet service is offered. 5,000 KRW for 120 minutes isn't bad, right?
π° Value for Money: Honestly, with these ingredients at this price, it's a steal. You'd have to pay at least 200,000 KRW elsewhere for such botan shrimp...
The final dessert was perfect too! It was chamoe sorbet, and it was refreshing like Melona γ γ
I really understand why it's so popular. The chef was kind, they didn't skimp on ingredients, and the service was great... It's really hard to find this quality for under 100,000 KRW!
Revisit Intention: 100% yes! I want to try the lunch time next π
If you're looking for affordable omakase in Gangnam, I highly recommend Sushi Sogi! Make sure to book in advance~
