Euljiro Hipjiro Hot Spot Manseonhof Garlic Chicken Review - The Garlic Aroma is Insane

The Place My Friend Kept Recommending, I Finally Visited!

Lately, I've seen too many Hipjiro photos on Instagram and got curious, but when a senior at work said, "You can't say you've been to Euljiro if you haven't tried Manseonhof Garlic Chicken," I ended up going, haha. Went straight there with a friend right after work on Friday!

As soon as I came out of exit 3 of Euljiro 3-ga Station, I saw a crowd of people heading towards Nogari Alley. By around 7:30 PM on a Friday evening, it was completely packed...

Waiting is a Given, But There's a Rooftop?

The outdoor seats were obviously full, and the line was really long. But after searching, I found out that the rooftop terrace at Manseonhof has less waiting time, so we headed straight there! We went into the building with the Prague Karaoke, and there it was.

We got a seat on the rooftop in just 1 minute! It was much less noisy and nicer than the outdoor seats. Eating in a place with too many people can be overwhelming, right?

Finally Ordered! Garlic Chicken is a Must

The menu was combined with a napkin holder, which was interesting. There were more options than I expected, including set menus. But of course, we ordered the signature garlic chicken half first.

Garlic Chicken Arrives! The Garlic Aroma is Wow

Wow... The pickled radish plate on top of the chicken seems to be Manseonhof's unique serving style! It was fascinating to see for the first time. And there was garlic sauce pooled underneath the chicken.

You pour the garlic sauce over the chicken with a spoon, and the garlic aroma is insane! It's sweet yet has a strong garlic flavor that's quite addictive. The chicken itself was crispy and well-fried, making it delicious.

As soon as I took a bite, I thought, "Ah, this is why people recommend it." The garlic aroma was so strong that it lingered in my mouth for a while, haha. But that's also its charm?

Gotta Try the Nogari Too

Once we were somewhat full, we ordered Nogari too. I was surprised by the cheap price of 1,500 KRW and the unique appearance, haha. It was perfect as a snack when you're full.

We also tried the dried pollack, and though the taste was slightly different, both were good. This is what Euljiro's vibe feels like.

How's the Atmosphere and Value?

The draft beer was really cold and tasty! The cold, creamy foam made all the fatigue of the day disappear. I also liked the unique bustling atmosphere of Euljiro.

The prices are reasonable. 9,000 KRW for half a garlic chicken and 5,000 KRW for draft beer isn't bad in the heart of Seoul. Especially considering the atmosphere, I think it's good value for money.

Visit Tips & Cautions

And the garlic aroma is really strong, so be cautious if you have plans the next day, haha. I brushed my teeth twice after eating the garlic chicken when I got home.

Places to Explore Nearby

The Nogari Alley in Euljiro 3-ga where Manseonhof is located is a sight in itself. The nearby Munich Hof is also famous, so I plan to visit there next time. Sewoon Shopping Center is also within walking distance, making it a great place to explore.

Honest Overall Review

I was half-expectant and half-worried because it's a hot spot in Euljiro Hipjiro, but it was better than I thought! The garlic chicken was tasty, and the atmosphere was unique. The garlic sauce was particularly impressive.

However, if you dislike noisy places, I wouldn't recommend it, and if you can't eat garlic, you should pass, haha. I plan to visit again! Next time, I'll order a whole chicken and try more snacks.

It seems like a great spot for a date in Euljiro or a company dinner. Perfect for having a beer with friends while enjoying the vibe!
