Incheon Chinatown White Jajangmyeon Restaurant Yeongyeong - A True Gem Recognized by Blue Ribbon!
A Jewel Discovered by Chance in Chinatown
While visiting Wolmido in Incheon with a friend, we had some extra time and decided to explore Chinatown. As lunchtime approached, we started feeling hungry, haha. Walking between the streetlights and red buildings of Chinatown, wondering "What should we eat here?", a grand building suddenly appeared in front of us.

The sign for Yeongyeong was really big. The building itself was the most noticeable place in Chinatown, so we naturally headed there. I later found out that it was a place recognized by Blue Ribbon!
First Impressions and Store Atmosphere
From the entrance on the first floor, it was really luxurious. Climbing the stairs, there were even second and third floors, and I was surprised by the size. It was traditionally Chinese in interior design but elegantly decorated.

The tables were spaced generously, and there were many family guests. Especially with the round tables, it seemed great for group dining. The staff were really friendly too.
Waiting and Ordering Process
Luckily, we went around 2 PM on a weekday, so there was no waiting! I heard there are long lines on weekends, so I was glad we timed it right. The menu was really diverse when we received it.

They are famous for their white jajangmyeon, so I definitely wanted to try it. I was so curious about how it differed from regular jajangmyeon. My friend decided to have jjamppong, and we also ordered tangsuyuk.
The Identity of the White Jajangmyeon Finally Revealed
The food came out really quickly! Did it take less than 10 minutes? The white jajangmyeon was really fascinating. Unlike regular jajangmyeon, it was a light beige color.

Upon the first bite, it was much smoother and cleaner in taste compared to regular jajangmyeon! It had less of the salty taste typical of chunjang, and instead, the sweetness of the meat and onions was more pronounced. The noodles were chewy, which was nice. I immediately understood why it was famous.
Can't Miss the Jjamppong and Tangsuyuk
I tasted a spoonful of the jjamppong my friend ordered, and the broth had a really deep flavor. It was packed with seafood, and the spiciness was just right.

The tangsuyuk... this was truly the pinnacle of crispiness! The combination of the crispy exterior and tender interior was perfect. The sauce was sweet and sour, making it irresistible.

Price and Value for Money?
The white jajangmyeon was 9,000 won, jjamppong was 12,000 won, and small tangsuyuk was 28,000 won. It felt slightly expensive because it's in Chinatown, but considering the taste and portion, it was a reasonable price.
- White Jajangmyeon
- 9,000 won
- Jjamppong
- 12,000 won
- Tangsuyuk (Small)
- 28,000 won
- Tangsuyuk (Medium)
- 38,000 won
Especially the tangsuyuk, the portion was so large that it seemed enough for 3-4 people. Overall, for a place recognized by Blue Ribbon, I thought it was a reasonable price.
Directions and Practical Tips
Exit from Incheon Station Exit 1 and walk for about 5 minutes. When you see the large Chinese-style gate at the entrance of Chinatown, go straight, and you'll see Yeongyeong.

Nearby Places to Explore
After eating at Yeongyeong, it was perfect for exploring Chinatown! Right next to it is Fairy Tale Village, where it's fun to look at the fairy tale houses.

There's also a Jajangmyeon Museum, and Jayu Park is a 10-minute walk away, so we went up there to digest. The view overlooking Incheon Port was really nice. There were many places selling tanghulu, so we bought one each as dessert while walking, haha.
Honest Overall Impression and Willingness to Revisit
Since it was a place recognized by Blue Ribbon, I had high expectations, and it truly did not disappoint! Especially the white jajangmyeon was really unique and delicious. If you're tired of regular jajangmyeon, it's definitely worth trying.

The downside would be the long waiting times on weekends? But since there are many things to explore in Chinatown, it seems okay to pass the time. The atmosphere and taste were great, so it seemed perfect as a date course.
Next time, I want to try the Peking duck course meal! It would be more fun to come with friends and order various dishes. I plan to visit again when I go to Incheon!
