A Weekend Needing a Seongsu-dong Vibe Recharge

On a Saturday afternoon, I wanted to spend time somewhere special with my boyfriend, so I searched and discovered Seongsu-dong! It's the place with those atmospheric cafes that I've seen so much on Instagram. I planned a date course with the hottest spot, Cafe Onion, as the main attraction.

Exit from Seongsu Station Exit 3 and walk for about 10 minutes to reach Cafe Onion! The brick building stands out even from a distance. There were so many people, probably because it was the weekend.

Cafe Onion Seongsu - The True Face of a Bakery Hotspot

Wow... As soon as you enter, the smell of bread hits you. The first floor is the bakery and ordering area, and there are also the second floor and rooftop, so the space was larger than expected. Yet, it was so crowded that there were no seats available ㅠㅠ

We ordered the signature garlic salt bread, a croissant, an iced Americano, and a cafe latte. The bread seemed freshly baked. Especially the garlic salt bread was crispy on the outside and moist on the inside, so much so that my boyfriend suggested buying another one ㅋㅋ

When we went up to the rooftop, the view was really nice! The unique factory buildings of Seongsu-dong give off a strangely emotional vibe. Taking photos here would definitely capture that Instagram aesthetic.

Exploring Seongsu-dong - Hidden Gems

After leaving Onion, we looked around the area and found so many things to see. Right next to it is Daelim Warehouse, and Seoul Forest is just a short walk away, making it great for a stroll.

Especially around Achasan-ro 9-gil, there are so many hot places gathered. From galleries to select shops and other atmospheric cafes... You wouldn't get bored even if you walked around all day.

A Hearty Lunch at Hwahwadon

After just having dessert at the cafe, we got hungry and went to a Vietnamese pho restaurant nearby called Hwahwadon. It's known as a famous spot in Seongsu.

A bowl of pho was really filling. The broth was clean, and the noodles were chewy and delicious. The price was reasonable, and the portion was sufficient, so my boyfriend was satisfied.

A Relaxing Afternoon at Seoul Forest

Feeling full, we headed to Seoul Forest for a walk. It's about a 15-minute walk from Seongsu Station? The weather was nice, so we could walk pleasantly.

Seoul Forest is truly healing itself. It's amazing to have such a natural space in the middle of the city. We sat on a bench, chatted, took photos... It was a really relaxing time.

Ending the Day at Ttukseom Hangang Park

Before the sun set, we moved to Ttukseom Hangang Park. It's close to Seongsu-dong, and I heard the sunset over the Han River is really beautiful.

Wow... The sunset was truly a work of art. Ending the day while looking at the Han River made it feel like a perfect date.

Honest Review

Seongsu-dong seems like a perfect place for a date course. Especially Cafe Onion, with its delicious bread and great atmosphere, is a must-visit. However, it's really crowded, so I recommend going with plenty of time!

Next time, I want to visit other hot places in Seongsu-dong. There are so many places I haven't been to yet ㅎㅎ
