The Place That Suddenly Came to Mind, Mizori

I was so curious about the Galchi-tang that keeps appearing in dramas these days, and a senior colleague at work mentioned there's a really delicious Galchi-tang place in Yeouido. When they asked, "Have you been to Mizori?" I didn't know what it was, but it turns out it's already a well-known restaurant among Yeouido office workers. With the cold weather making me crave hot soup, I made a reservation and went right away.

It's on the second floor of the Center Building, and there's a Chinese restaurant called Hanyangwon on the first floor, so it wasn't hard to find. Honestly, just looking at the building, you wouldn't expect there to be a famous restaurant...

Reservation Required! A Small but Special Space

As soon as I entered, I felt it was a really cozy and neat Japanese-style restaurant. There are a few floor seating tables, and inside, there are room-style tables, making it a good place for company dinners or entertaining guests.

During weekday lunch hours, you might end up going for nothing if you don't make a reservation. I called ahead to reserve, and thankfully, I was seated right away.

The Care Packed in a Bowl of Galchi-tang

Looking at the menu, the Galchi-tang was 19,000 won. Honestly, I thought it was a bit expensive for lunch, but once the food came, I understood why it was priced that way.

First of all, the side dishes are really plentiful. With kkakdugi, napa cabbage kimchi, grilled saury, braised radish, and stir-fried seaweed stems... I was almost full just from these. The grilled saury was especially delicious.

The Majesty of Galchi-tang Finally Appears

As soon as I saw the Galchi-tang bubbling in the earthen pot, I thought, "Ah, this is it!" The color of the broth looked really delicious, and the size of the hairtail was no joke.

After taking a bite... wow, it's really delicious! The broth is spicy yet has a deep flavor, and the hairtail meat is really tender and large, making it fun to eat. It has a different charm from braised hairtail.

There are so many fish eggs in it that it feels like eating fish egg soup... Mixing the broth with rice was truly delightful. I was a bit worn out from a company dinner the night before, but it felt like a perfect hangover cure!

Why Yeouido Office Workers Love It

While eating, I glanced at the table next to me, and everyone was wearing suits. Ah, that's why it's a favorite spot for Yeouido office workers.

Since it's in a room, it's good for discussing work while eating, and although it's a bit pricey, it's definitely worth it. It seems like a great place to come for special occasions or entertaining guests!

It's a perfect distance for a walk to Hangang Park after a meal. When the weather is nice, Yeouido Park is also nearby, making it great for digestion, and 63 Building or IFC Mall are within walking distance, offering plenty of shopping or café options.

Honest Overall Impression

At first, I wondered what Galchi-tang was, but after trying it, it's truly a special taste. It's a bit burdensome for lunch, but it's definitely worth coming for a special day.

I'm 100% willing to visit again! Next time, I want to come in the evening and try the omakase. Highly recommended when you're craving special Korean food in Yeouido ㅎㅎ
