Top 5 Cafes You Must Visit When Traveling to Goseong

I went on a 3-day, 2-night trip to Goseong with friends and visited some cafes that are hot on Instagram! Honestly, I was half excited and half worried, but each place was so unique and beautiful that I was completely satisfied. The sea view was especially moving, something you can never see in Seoulㅠㅠ So, I've compiled only the top 5 places I truly recommend from my visit!

1. Square Root - The Prestige of Blue Ribbon for 3 Consecutive Years

The first has to be Square Root! Being selected for the Blue Ribbon for 3 consecutive years, it really had a different class. It's right in front of Gajin Beach, so the panoramic sea view through the large windows is truly breathtaking.

I had the Tiramisu and Lotus Sundae, and the Tiramisu was perfect, being rich yet not too sweet. Just be careful when eating the Tiramisu, as the powder might get into your nose if you breathe through itㅋㅋ Lying on the beanbag and watching the sea was truly healing, and the parking lot was very spacious, which was convenient!

2. Bada Garden - No Wonder It's the Most Visited Cafe Nationwide

The famous Bada Garden I had only heard about in rumors! There were really a lot of people. The new building and main building are separate, and the scale is like that of a medium-sized companyㅋㅋ But since it's a cafe that everyone goes to, you have to visit at least once in your life.

The signature caramel here is really delicious. They say it's made with French gourmet butter, and it truly had a luxurious taste! It's perfect for gazing at the sea from the 4th floor. However, since there are many people, if you want a quieter experience, I recommend going on a weekday.

3. Glass House - The Surfers' Sanctuary, Truly Hip

Since it's a cafe made by a surfer, it has a truly hip vibe! The container-built exterior looked a bit flimsy, but the interior was really pretty. Surfing-related objects are placed everywhere, and the subtle house music made the atmosphere top-notch.

It's right in front of Cheonjin Beach, so it's great to have coffee at the cafe and then take a walk on the beach. The prices are reasonable compared to other places, and since the interior changes periodically, I want to visit again!

4. Taseet - Financier Specialty, Minimalist Vibe

A small but emotionally rich cafe at Cheonggan Beach! It's famous as a financier specialty, and it was really delicious. The outside was crispy, and the inside was moist, pairing perfectly with coffee.

The minimalist interior with a structure that allows you to see the sea through the fence is unique. It's small in size, but it's perfect for zoning out by the sea. The chairs without backrests might be a bit uncomfortable, but it seems they were intentionally made for sitting and looking at the sea.

5. Ceramic Star - Bongpo Beach Rooftop View Spot

A pottery gallery cafe right in front of Bongpo Beach! The 2nd and 3rd floors are cafes, and there's a rooftop, so you can enjoy different views on each floor. The pottery items are really pretty, making it fun to browse.

The view of Bongpo Beach from the rooftop is really beautiful! There are pool chairs, so it's nice to lie down and watch the sea. I liked that they use stainless steel straws, considering the environment. However, the interior is a bit cramped, so it might be hard to find a seat when it's crowded.

Most places have ample parking. Square Root can accommodate over 100 cars, and Taseet offers free public parking.

Recommended Visit Time

Weekdays around 2-4 PM are the quietest and have the best views. Be prepared for crowds on weekends!

In Conclusion

I didn't know there were so many beautiful cafes in Goseong, but visiting them in person, each one was truly charming. The sea view, in particular, was something you can never see in Seoul, making it even more special.

Each cafe has a different atmosphere and character, so if you have the time, I recommend visiting them all! Next time I go to Goseong, I plan to try the cafes I haven't been to yet. If you're traveling to Goseong, make sure to visit these cafes!
