The Restaurant My Friend Kept Recommending, I Finally Visited!

Recently, my friend kept saying that a new meat restaurant in Munjeong was really delicious, so I was curious for a while, and I finally made time to visit! I heard it hasn't been open for long, but it's already gaining a lot of word-of-mouth popularity. It's conveniently located between Munjeong Station and Suseo Station, making it a great spot for company dinners.

First Impressions Were Great with the Clean Interior

Donmong Munjeong Main Branch is located at 70 Jeongui-ro! It's easy to find as it's on the first floor of the KDU building. The sign saying 'Premium Aged Pork' was intriguing. As soon as I entered, I noticed how clean it was. Despite being a pork restaurant, there was no greasy smell, and the luxurious interior seemed perfect for both dates and company dinners.

There are about six tables in the hall, and I heard they have private rooms too. We went on a weekday evening, and there were quite a few people. It seems like word spreads fast when it comes to good restaurants!

The Fun of Choosing from the Menu

The menu was really diverse! From pork belly, pork neck, to pork jowl, and pork skirt meat... What stood out was the word 'aged' that kept appearing. It truly felt like a place selling premium aged pork.

The staff recommended the flower pork neck, saying it was thick and juicy. So, we ordered the flower pork neck and pork belly. The price was a bit high, but considering it's aged meat, it was understandable.

The Meat Arrives! The Visuals Are Already Different

When the meat arrived, the color was noticeably different! The marbling was beautiful, and the thickness was just right, probably because it was well-aged. Even in its raw state, it looked delicious.

Impressed by the Service of Grilling for Us!

What surprised me here was that the staff grilled the meat for us! They grilled it over charcoal, and the sizzling sound was different. As the sound of sizzling filled the air and the aroma of the meat wafted, my mouth started watering.

Once it was adequately grilled, they even cut it into bite-sized pieces, making it very convenient. Receiving this kind of service made me feel like a VIP, haha.

Is This the Power of Aging?

Finally, the first bite! Wow, it was really different. The moment I put a piece of flower pork neck in my mouth, the juices burst out, and it was tender to chew. I realized this is what well-aged meat tastes like. It wasn't greasy at all, and I could taste the natural sweetness of the meat.

The same went for the pork belly. Usually, pork belly can be greasy due to the fat, but this pork belly wasn't like that at all. Instead, it had a savory and sweet taste. It truly felt like it melted in my mouth.

Perfect Side Dishes to Complete the Meal

The basic side dishes were really good too. Especially the kimchi, which was crunchy and perfectly fermented, paired well with the meat to cut through any greasiness. The soybean paste stew tasted like it was homemade, rich and delicious.

The diced radish kimchi fried rice we ordered at the end was a real treat! It was stir-fried on a griddle, and the texture of the diced radish kimchi was great, refreshing the palate after eating the meat.

Satisfied with Both the Atmosphere and Service

It was great to enjoy delicious meat in a luxurious atmosphere. The staff were friendly, and the grilling service allowed us to have a comfortable conversation while dining. It seemed like a perfect place for company dinners.

Since there's no corkage fee, it would be nice to bring wine or beer. I would recommend it as a date course for special occasions!

They are open daily from 11:30 to 22:00, with the last order at 21:30. Since there are many company dinners on weekday evenings, I recommend making a reservation!

It's located between Munjeong Station and Suseo Station, so it's easily accessible by public transportation. You can use the building's parking lot for parking.

The price is a bit high, but considering the quality of the aged meat, it's reasonable.

Nearby Places to Visit

There are many clean cafes near the Munjeong legal district. It's nice to have a cup of coffee after a meal, and although Seokchon Lake is a bit far, it's worth visiting for a walk. There are also many shopping places around Munjeong Station, so it would be great to plan it as a date course!

Honest Overall Impression and Willingness to Revisit

I felt like I had real meat for the first time in a while! It was delicious enough to understand the power of aging, and I was satisfied with every aspect, including the service and atmosphere.

The price might be a bit burdensome, but it's really good for special occasions or company dinners. I'm already thinking about who to go with next time, haha.
