The Malt House Gangnam: Perfect Date Night Italian Restaurant Near Gangnam Station

Ran to 더몰트하우스 right after watching a TV show!

Last Saturday afternoon, my husband and I were in Gangnam for some errands and were pondering where to have lunch. I usually enjoy cooking shows, and a few days ago, 더몰트하우스 was featured on one. They said the pasta and steak were particularly delicious.

I suggested to my husband, "Shall we try 더몰트하우스 today?" and he readily agreed. Actually, there are so many good restaurants around Gangnam Station that it's hard to choose, but the memory from the show was vivid, so we decided without hesitation.

Just a 2-minute walk from Gangnam Station Exit 9, perfect accessibility!

더몰트하우스 Gangnam Station branch is really easy to find. If you exit from Gangnam Station Exit 9 and go straight, you'll see it right away. For those coming by car, there's a mechanical parking lot next to the store that you can use, and it's free for up to an hour.

The exterior already gives off a luxurious vibe. The sign is sleek, and the entrance design is so pretty that my expectations were high even before entering.

A spacious area divided into two floors, with an atmosphere like a hotel lounge

The moment we stepped inside, we couldn't help but say "Wow!" The ceiling is high, and the space is really wide. It's divided into the first and second floors, and each has a different atmosphere, which was nice.

The first floor has a bright and casual feel, while the second floor is more upscale and bar-like. We sat by the window on the second floor, and the view overlooking the first floor was quite nice.

Signature menus chosen after much deliberation

The menu had a really wide variety of choices. From steak, pasta, pizza, to risotto... we pondered for a while on what to eat. There were over 20 types of draft beer, and a wide selection of wine and cocktails, which was visually pleasing.

After much deliberation, we ordered:

• Myeongran Mollica Avocado Cream Linguine (24,000 KRW)
• Rose Burrata Cheese Spaghettini (32,000 KRW)
• Jamon Pineapple Pizza (29,000 KRW)
• Two glasses of Stella Artois draft beer (5,900 KRW each)

It was even better because there was a spring event discount on draft beer!

Exceeded expectations, everything was delicious!

First, a sip of the draft beer... the cool and smooth taste was really nice. They also provided nacho snacks as a service when you order draft beer.

Myeongran Mollica Avocado Cream Linguine

The name of this menu is long, right? Haha, it seems like it's because there are so many diverse ingredients. There was a heap of sliced avocado in the center, topped with myeongran breadcrumbs and plump shrimp!

The savory taste of myeongran and the creaminess were truly fantastic. The myeongran wasn't overly salty, and its nutty yet clean flavor perfectly balanced with the cream sauce.

Rose Burrata Cheese Spaghettini

When I cut into the burrata cheese, the cream flowed out so moistly! Mixing this cream with the rose sauce made it even smoother and more luxurious in taste. The abundance of arugula added a fragrant touch, making each bite truly satisfying.

Jamon Pineapple Pizza

It was a thin-crust pizza, which was nice because it wasn't too heavy. The salty jamon and sweet pineapple combination, along with arugula, enhanced the flavor significantly.

They also provided parmesan cheese and hot sauce separately. My husband is a hot sauce fan, while I prefer parmesan cheese, so we each sprinkled according to our taste, haha.

The total came to 91,800 KRW, which I think is reasonable for a restaurant near Gangnam Station. Especially considering the generous portions and high quality, the value for money was satisfying.

You can use the mechanical parking lot next to the store, and it's free for up to an hour. After that, it's 3,000 KRW per 30 minutes.

🕐 Recommended Visit Time

We went around 2 PM, and it was pleasantly uncrowded. There might be a wait during dinner hours or on weekends, so it might be good to make a reservation.
